Fourth of July Church Flowers

Having to design church flowers for God and Country Sunday is always a fun challenge. There are very few blue flowers, so that is always my place to start. I like to use dark blue delphinium, since it’s not something I get to use very often. But blue agapanthus always remind me of fireworks. From there, I usually select the red flower. Red gladiolus are fun and cheap, red gerbera daisies are bright and summery, while red sumatra lilies are lush and add a wonderful fragrance. The white flowers can be just about anything, but white hydrangeas seem to be the easiest thing to use. But white spider mums or daisies work well too, giving you a real summertime picnic vibe.
