Over at Isle of Hope UMC, things have been busy. We are currently in a new sermon series titled “Home Improvement.” This five week series is focused on building the relationships and ties between our families, our children and our maker. Since the scripture lessons that have been chosen tend to be on the “do not” side of things, I’ve taken a different approach as far as stage design and setting up the worship space.
Over the next four weeks, we will be worshiping in several different rooms of the home. We will visit the entryway, the living room, the laundry/mud room, and the kitchen table. The purpose is to make the worshipper feel comfortable and at home. By using everyday items found in the home, we are able to show how easy it is to worship, even at home.
